Samsung’s NX series was aimed to integrate a DLSR-sized image sensor with the Samsung’s Compact Digital Cameras. However, the APS-C image sensor was somewhat larger than its counterpart found in the Micro Four Thirds. Modifications were made to squeeze the image sensor into an interchangeable lens body. The mirror-less body was smaller than the original DLSR-sized framework. It is quite noticeable that the rival Micro Four Thirds from Panasonic has been based on the above concept since inception.
I can’t wait to get my hands on the NX10 at the CES 2010 festival. The digital camera will offer 720p HD video functionality (H.264 codec) and will also include a 3.0-inch AMOLED view screen. Samsung’s new AMOLED screen is claimed to deliver faster response rates which go up to 10,000 times of the conventional LCDs. Apart from lower power consumption it promises the following key features:
Key Specs:
- Electronic viewfinder
- Flash – Built-in Pop-up Flash
- ISO – 100 – 3200
- Contrast ratio – 10,000:1
- Dust reduction – Supersonic Type
- OIS – Lens Shift
- Size & Weight – 4.8″ x 3.4″ x 1.6″ (excluding the projecting parts of the camera) .78 lbs (without battery and card)
